The ongoing trend for zodiac-themed body art designs continues to grow in popularity to such an extent that this particular style of tattoos is now a favorite with just as many male tattoo enthusiasts as women. Each astrological sign of the zodiac, is represented by a pictorial image and a glyph symbol, however while some of the imagery used is fairly neutral in gender, there are others that are synonymous with more masculine characteristics including Aries tattoos for men.
This is the first of the twelve signs of the zodiac, for those born between 21st March and the 20th April, and it is symbolized by the virile and rampant ram. Ruled by the mighty planet Mars and coming under the Zodiac element of fire, Aries men tend to be a bit of a handful so you may wish to bare this in mind if you come across a guy sporting a body art design of this kind.
On the positive side, Aries guys, in general are lively and enthusiastic individuals who always seem to have plenty of energy and he is definitely a leader, not a follower. While he may be strong-minded in some respects – Aries do not like to lose an argument and will always try to have the last word – they are also very level heads and have a good brain for business. There are some potent masculine attributes that are aptly symbolized by aries tattoos for men as these tend to be brave and courageous individuals with a keen sense of adventure however they are also honest and extremely trustworthy, with a strong sense of righteousness and justice. Unfortunately they can also be egotistical, overly indulgent, very impatient and have rather a short fuse, so with their capacity for high levels of anger, guys born under this sign can often resemble the charging ram that represents them when they lose their tempers.
The ram has played a significant part in the cultures of civilizations all over the globe for millennia, as a symbol of virility and fertility, strength and power, protection and fearlessness to name but a few. From ancient Egypt and Greek mythology to Pagan worship and black magic rituals, this has always been a very potent male symbol throughout the centuries which can be depicted as body art in a variety of differing ways. If you prefer a more abstract approach to aries tattoos for men there are some interesting Celtic designs and images illustrated in the style of various tribal artwork that offer an alternative to some of the more traditionally used imagery. The glyph sign can also be used in conjunction with a picture image of the ram itself or it can be customized and used as the focal point for a more contemporary tattoo. This symbol resembles a ram’s head as it is a sort of V-shape with each end curling down and outwards to resemble the horns of a ram and it can be used as a single image on its own or in conjunction with other images as part of a larger more elaborate design.
